Obsession
So many kids told me that they were passionate about photography, or more specifically rooftopping, and would want to shoot with me. But in fact, I even doubt if they were really passionate about it, or just being obsessed with social media. (Of course I have met some great photographers and made friends with them)
People could spend so much time, money and effort to chase a trend, to be a part of it. Sometimes this would even affect your friendships, your daily job, relationship with family, etc. I'm not even exaggerating, I went through this. I messed things up once, and I was chasing all those numbers, meaningless numbers on social media; meeting so many "friends", that wouldn't even contact me if I stopped rooftopping or start losing followers.
When it's affecting your personal life, then I guess it's time for you to step back and rethink what was the reason that got you into the hobby. Take things easy, then you might earn much more than you originally expected.
